What is The Academy of Mentoring (TAM)
TAM is a purpose-driven mentorship program that connects experienced, vetted mentors with motivated students, athletes, and professionals. Its goal? Help people win the game of life by fostering leadership, legacy, and growth-one conversation at a time.
Is there a cost to join TAM
Nope. Zero. Nada. TAM is completely free for both mentors and mentees. We believe in giving back, not charging forward.
Who can be a mentor or mentee
Mentees must be nominated and vetted by the AGE³ leadership team to ensure they're ready to actively engage and benefit from the experience. Mentors are selected based on their leadership, expertise, and passion for giving back-and yes, they go through a vetting process too.
What's the time commitment
Just one 30-45 minute session per month for 4-6 months. Think of it as one coffee date a month-but with purpose.
What do mentors and mentees actually do
Mentees come prepared with questions, goals, and updates. Mentors share wisdom, offer guidance, and help mentees grow. It's a two-way street-but mentees drive the schedule.
What platform do we use to meet
Whatever works best for you both-Zoom, Google Meet, FaceTime, WhatsApp, you name it. But video calls are strongly encouraged. Faces build bonds.
Is video required
It's not required-but highly recommended. If your mentor is able to be on video, the mentee is expected to show up on camera. It's all about that face-to-face connection, even virtually.
What if we don't "click"
No hard feelings! If it's not the right fit, either party can end the mentoring relationship at any time. Just send a polite thank-you note (we even provide a template). Then you can request a new match. Chemistry matters.
How do I join as a mentor or mentee
Visit almongunterexperience.com and head to the "Academy of Mentoring" tab. There you'll find info and application links for mentors, mentees, and donors.
I know someone who'd be a great mentor. Can they join
Absolutely! Just direct them to almongunterexperience.com -> "Academy of Mentoring" -> "Mentor Application." If selected, they'll hear from the leadership team.
What's the ultimate goal of TAM
To build leaders. To build legacies. To build human beings. This is mentorship with purpose-and a whole lot of heart.
