Reverse Coed Quads

Each team must have at least 2 women and 2 men on the court at all times.

Divisions

Experienced Division – Power Reverse
Men may attack from behind the 10-foot line and may jump serve. Men may not block.

Recreational Division – Pure Reverse
Men may not attack, jump serve, or block.

High School Division
Boys may attack from behind the 10-foot line and may jump serve. Boys may not block.

A reverse coed team may play with 1 man and 3 women, but only 2 women may attack or block at any given time.

Pool Play and Playoffs

Teams will play round-robin pool play, with 4 teams per pool when possible. Playoffs will be single elimination.

Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place in each division.

Roster

Roster maximum is 6 players. Minimum 4: 2 men, 2 women.

Players who start a game must finish that game unless they are injured. See the substitution rules below.

Scoring

All games will use rally scoring.

Tips

Open-hand tips are not allowed.

Double Contact

Players may double contact any first ball over the net, including serves, as long as the ball is not held. Players may not double contact the second or third team contact.

Let Serves

Let serves are not legal.

Blocking

A block does not count as a team contact.

Setting Over

If a ball is set over into the opponent’s court, the setter’s shoulders must be square, either forward or backward, to the line of flight of the ball.

Timeouts

Each team is allowed two 30-second timeouts per game.

Side Changes

Teams should switch sides every 7 points in games to 17 or more, and every 5 points in games to 15.

Forfeit Rule

A 10-minute forfeit rule is in effect.

Net Height

Coed divisions will be played on a men’s-height net.

Each coed team must have a minimum of 2 women and 2 men on the court. There is no requirement that a woman must touch the ball during each possession.

Power Reverse

Men may attack from behind the 10-foot line and may jump serve. Men may not block.

Pure Reverse

Men may not attack a ball above the plane of the net, may not block above the plane of the net, and may not jump serve.

A reverse coed team may play with 1 man and 3 women.
